Check the Status of Your Return
Reviewing the status of your tax return is quick and easy.
How to check the status of your Tax Return?
If your are a SmartCloud Tax & Accounting Client, Login to your portal account and select “Files” from the left navigation bar.

First, make sure you have the necessary information on hand: your Social Security number or ITIN, your filing status (such as single, married filing jointly, etc.), and the exact refund amount you expect, as shown on your tax return. With this information, you can access the latest updates on your return.

The IRS offers a tool called "Where's My Refund?" available on the IRS website or through the IRS2Go mobile app. This tool is updated once every 24 hours, usually overnight, so you can check back daily for updates.
To use it, enter your Social Security number, filing status, and the exact refund amount. The tool will then display one of three statuses: Received, Approved, or Sent. If it shows "Received," the IRS has your return and is processing it. "Approved" means your refund is on its way, and "Sent" indicates that your refund has been mailed or deposited into your bank account.

If it’s been more than 21 days since you filed electronically, or more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return and you haven’t received your refund, it might be time to contact the IRS directly for an update. Keep in mind, however, that delays can occur for various reasons, such as filing during peak times or errors on your return.
